Riley learns about The Extinct Dodo

The Extinct Dodo

The extinct Dodo is a small bird but they are very extinct because people killed them.

A Dodo has a body of a small bird and has tiny legs. The legs are so small and pointed at the ground and  sticks out. Typically most are the prettiest of colours which shows off  brown and black fur. Furthermore most had a small beak made out of bone and their wings consisted of  the furriest wings. As the Dodo moved it left tiny footprints.

️While many dodos were found in a native island of Mauritius in the Indian Ocean it is thought that they are very extinct and are not seen now.  When they lived they dreamed under leaves or lay curled up on the beach. However at night the Dodo got killed.   If you are lucky you can find a fossil of it. Remember to take some roots as it is the Dodos favourite food. ☺

Dodos have became extinct 1600 years ago. In the main they lived on shellfish by the Indian Ocean in Mauritius. However they could also be tempted with crabs.  Additionally some liked to eat bulbs. People had to be careful when they were around Dodos as they could be scared!

Unfortunately because Dodos are dead this has meant they have been killed by people  and animals. Over the years so many Dodos have been killed that means today I can't see one in real life.
